Summer Science Camps IN NORTH BAY

Kinder Kids (Ages 4-5)

July 23-27 (English), July 30-August 3 (French)
Young children are already scientists – they’re exploring the world, trying things out, seeing what happens. Kinder Kids will direct their curiosity to the world around them with hands on activities and daily experiments. Our little scientists will engage in kitchen chemistry, fun physics, and basic biology as they experience the science of everyday life. Both indoor and outdoor activities will be included in this popular camp.

Discovery Camp (Ages 6-8)

July 23-27 (English), July 30-August 3 (French)
Our most popular camp returns with new and fun activities! Each day will feature a different theme including life sciences, engineering, and geology. Whether making hot air balloons or groundwater models, this camp is best suited for those children who like a little bit of everything.

Grossology Camp (Ages 9-11)

July 23-27 (English), July 30-August 3 (French)
Grossology Camp is,,,gross! Children will spend their days learning about the impolite science of the human body – from ‘boogers’ to ‘scabs.’ Activities focus on learning about the different systems in the body in a fun and humorous way.

F.I.R.S.T. Robo League (Ages 9-13)

August 6-10 (English)
In this week-long program, participants aged 9-13 will learn to design, construct and program robots. Using the F.I.R.S.T LEGO® League robotics competition model, participants will be given challenges to solve real-world problems using robotics. This program is designed to help kids to discover the fun in science and technology.

New! Science Quest Camp (Ages 11 – 14 – English only)

July 23-27 or August 6-10
Science Quest Camp provides opportunities for youth to meet, hear from, and interact with scientists and technologists within their own communities. Areas of interest may include robotics, forest ecology, or earth sciences – depending on the research being done in each particular community.~ It’s a fascinating opportunity for young people to obtain hands-on research skills. Science Quest is supported by the Government of Ontario.

(New!) 3D Game Making (Ages 13-15)

July 30-August 3
Using Gamestudio software, participants will learn how to create a video game in…3D! Their virtual world will contain outdoor and indoor environments complete with fully-textured surfaces and dynamic lighting. Participants will bring their project home on CD-ROM to be explored with their Windows PC.
